World record striper angler speaks Nov. 21

Greg Myerson, who caught the world record striped bass off Connecticut, will explain how to have the big fish find you when he speaks to the Nutmeg Chapter of Trout Unlimited on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m.

A percentage of sales will be donated to the Land Trust.

Earth Day event to benefit Aspetuck Land Trust

Aspetuck Brew Lab, 3389 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport will be donating $1 for every pint and $2 for every 64-oz growler to Aspetuck Land Trust on Friday, April 21, from 3:30-9 p.m.

Biologist shares info on trout with TU

Mike Humphreys, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection inland fisheries biologist for the western district, will speak at the next meeting of Nutmeg TU, set for Tuesday, March 21.

Nutmeg Trout and Boy Scout volunteers helped complete the third pase of cleanup and plantings at the Mill River on Congress Street.

Trout Unlimited’s Nutmeg Trout Chapter members were at the Mill River in Fairfield this week helping to protect the soil around the river from invasive species and erosion.
