The Connecticut Supreme Court has upheld its landmark ruling declaring the state’s death penalty unconstitutional and abolishing capital punishment.

The CT Post is reporting, that the children of the woman whose body was found Monday on a beach in Stratford said they wanted her friends to know she has been identified, and that she was a woman who was proud of her Native American heritage, loved the outdoors and enjoyed the shoreline.

In Shelton, tears fell and tempers flared as the Board of Ed stood behind its decision once again to not grant the Conklin family’s request for an honorary diploma to be awarded to them for their late son Eddy at the Shelton High annual commencement ceremony on June 10.

A Newtown teacher accused of bringing a loaded gun to school last month appeared before a judge for the first time this week.

Milford Police arrested a woman they say took her baby into Babies-R-Us, put the child in a baby stroller, and then pushed the child and stroller out of the store without paying for the $200 stroller.

New Canaan Police say an intoxicated woman was carrying a gun when arrested for trespassing  on a Brushy Ridge road property.

The Trumbull Police Department is reminding parents and adults caring for young children to be mindful of leaving a child unattended in a vehicle.

New Canaan Police Officer Ron Bentley has been assigned to work the downtown beat, according to Chief Leon Krolikowski  in an effort to deter criminal activity, enforce traffic laws and make the village a safer place to both visit and do business in.
