Fairfield teen donates 585 Easter baskets over 10 years to children served by Operation Hope

While it’s not terribly unusual for a teenager to volunteer her time to help others, it is unusual for a child to have started so young and maintain and grow her giving over the course of 10 years.

The Mr. & Miss Shamrock Scholarship Contest is held annually in January at the Gaelic American Club, Fairfield. Winners participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and festivities.

The Center for HOPE will welcome world-class triathlete, cancer survivor and author Karen Newman to the podium as the speaker for its 2016 annual Luncheon on Tuesday, May 3.

Sister Peg Regan, SSND, who has served as executive director of Caroline House since 2010, has announced that she will retire from the position on June 30, 2016.
