LETTER: Invest in our kids

When we ask lawmakers to fund Connecticut’s charter school students fairly and reject harmful budget cuts — such as the $11 million cut to charter schools proposed recently — we aren’t just asking them to invest in institutions. We’re asking them to invest in our kids.

St. Vincent’s College and the Bridgeport Public School District will be kicking off a new Healthcare Career and College Readiness Pilot Program this fall at Bassick High School.

Bridgeport wins nearly $3,000,000 federal grant to fund hiring of 17 new city firefighters

The City of Bridgeport has been awarded a $2.7 million dollar SAFER grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund the hiring of 17 new firefighters.
