A motorcyclist died in a accident on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport Sunday afternoon, April 7.

The crash was not a hit-and-run as Bridgeport police initially reported. The driver of the truck, identified as 30-year-old Roberto Dos Santos, remained at the scene and spoke with police.

Police said preliminary investigation indicated that two motorcyclists were riding together on Boston Avenue. As they reached Orchard Street, one of the bikes and a pickup truck collided.

The motorcyclist, who police have not identified, was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly after the crash, a blue and white motorcycle was on its side in the middle of Old Mill Green, some distance from the roadway. Grass was torn in several spots as if the bike tumbled off the roadway at a high rate of speed.

Around 5:30 p.m., police were seen talking to a man near an older pickup with front-end damage at the green.
