All three people shot outside a Boston Avenue club early Saturday, March 23, are expected to recover, police said.
The victims were identified by police Monday, March 25.
The most seriously wounded, Hassan Newman-Hampton, 24, was shot in the torso.
Two women were also hit. Lanece Johnson, also 24, was shot in the right thigh. Dominique Liggins, 27, also was shot in the leg.
All three were taken to Bridgeport Hospital and all three are expected to recover, according to police.
The three are believed to have been hit by ricochets during a burst of gunfire outside Expressions Café, 1425 Boston Ave., around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Detectives learned that it was a busy night at Expressions with a large crowd. At some point, the club stopped allowing people inside, police said Saturday.
Police also learned that there were two altercations inside the club. It remains unclear, however, if either of these altercations led to the gunfire, according to police.
Detectives were out recanvassing the scene and checking for any video security footage in the area. Police found shell casing outside the Chinese restaurant, according to doingitlocal.com.
Witnesses said they heard a burst of about 15 shots, then a second burst of five shots before the shooting ended, Doing It Local reported.
A witness called police that the gunman fled on foot on Ridgefield Avenue with a AK-47, Doing It Local reported, but police referred to it as a rifle at the scene.
Doing It Local reported early Saturday that the wounded man stumbled down Palisades Avenue, where he collapsed and called police from a cell phone.
