Christian music event — Bridgeport-based urban gospel duo Isaiah and Sarah will perform at the Overseer Marca Fountain, 10:30 a.m.

Workshop series — Live Well, a free six-week workshop series will be offered at The Child and Family Guidance Center on Fridays, Feb. 8, 15 and 22, and March 1, 8 and 15, from 2:15-4:45 p.m. Workshops are interactive with new topics covered each week. Club meeting — The Black Rock Knitting and Crocheting Club will be held at the Black Rock Branch Library, Thursdays, 6:30-8 p.m. All levels welcome. Free refreshments will be served. Fitness series — The Black Rock Branch presents ‘Get Fit Bridgeport,’ physical fitness series using exercise DVDs that are available at the library, Mondays and Wednesdays, noon-1 p.m. The format includes a 15-minute welcome and education, 30-minute walking with the video and 15-minute handout /repeat education and close. Just for kids — The Black Rock Branch Library presents Little Rocks for children up to 3 and their caregiver, 10:45-11:45 a.m. Program includes stories, rhymes, music, movement, short films and time for play. Information: Miss Bina, 203-337-9676.

 

Crafts for kids — The Black Rock Branch Library offers ‘Fabulous Fridays,’ a monthly craft program for kids, 3:30 p.m. Participants will make bird feeders out of water bottles in honor of National Bird Feeding Month. Monthly chess — Learn how to play chess with John Farwell at the Bridgeport Public Library/Burroughs & Saden branch on the last Tuesday of the month, 3 p.m. Open to those aged 12 to 18. Zoo’s new animals — Beardsley Zoo invites the public to meet its newest additions; zoo hours Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; adult admission (ages 12 and older) is $12, children (ages 3 to 11) and senior admission (62 and older) $10, and children under 3 and zoo members admitted free.
