Scholarships available for high school and college students

Graduating seniors and current college students who live or attend school in the towns of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport are eligible to apply for scholarships from the Fairfield County Community Foundation.

The Foundation’s Greater Bridgeport Area (GBA) Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial support to students in pursuit of a post-high school education. The program offers multiple awards from the general GBA Scholarship Fund in addition to more than 30 separate scholarships funds within the program, giving students the opportunity to apply for up to four different scholarships.

Last year, the foundation and its donors awarded nearly 300 scholarships totaling more than $730,000 to students throughout Fairfield County.

Details and information on the eligibility criteria, as well as the online application, are available at fccfoundation.org. Students should also contact their high school guidance counselors to receive information on the scholarships and application process.

All applications must be completed online no later than 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 1.

In addition to scholarships offered through the GBA Scholarship Program, the foundation and its donors offer scholarship opportunities to students at specific high schools throughout Fairfield County. Information on these scholarships is available through the guidance office at each high school.
