The Citizens Bank Foundation recently awarded $10,000 to the Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County for its Community Education & Violence Prevention program (CEVP).
CEVP provides the surrounding community with the necessary knowledge and tools needed to prevent violence in a time when violence is such an important issue. A vast range of programs for all ages is offered through the program to ensure that age-appropriate information is shared with CEVP’s multiple audiences.
The $10,000 granted to the nonprofit will ensure that its mission to strengthen women and families and to eliminate violence and abuse will be carried out. Through its many programs, the center teaches more than 7,000 children and teens about preventing bullying, trains more than 3,000 adults to prevent abuse and help victims, answers more than 2,000 crisis calls on 24-hour crisis hotlines and provides a safe home for more than 100 women and their children fleeing domestic violence.
